Humans have been exploring the opportunities for recreational sex, whether partnered, grouped, or singular, and in numerous varied ways, for as long as there have been humans in the first place. If anything, recreational sex (anytime you aren’t just trying to get pregnant) is best characterized by the exploration of its fullest experience on any and all available dimensions of human and conscious experience. It is utterly and purely recreational, which leaves open an essentially unlimited domain of potential practices.

The only way to achieve this mental sense of duration, Bergson maintains, is through direct intuition rather than indirect analysis. While much New Age philosophy and theory has hijacked this idea - that one should feel rather than think is an appealing concept - the damaging effects to Prufrock are evident. He is clearly a thinker, not a feeler, and his indecisive thoughts contribute directly to his paralysis, perhaps the most important theme in the poem. They comfort themselves with the fact that they held the House (due to gerrymandering) and think that just improving their get-out-the-vote system and throwing a few bones to the Latino community will fix their problem. There appears to be no recognition that their defects are far, far deeper and will require serious introspection and rethinking of how Republicans can win going forward. The alternative is permanent loss of the White House and probably the Senate as well, which means they can only temporarily block Democratic initiatives and never advance their own.

This, surprisingly, is the nature of a s-o-c poem. This is known as IMAGERY, nothing more. "I wandered lonely as a cloud... Read more →
